Ferns from Spores
Update as of 7 July 2008
Upon inspection of my nursery on Sunday, I found that some of the covers from the trays have shifted, and that the trays suffered some dehydration. Now this is not good for any small, ambitious fern's future. I corrected the situation, but must admit that I am somewhat pessimistic about the future of these little ones. Time will tell.

| Above is a close up of the (somewhat drier than ideal) spores germinating in the tray | The above picture is of the one tray containing some kind of fern tree spores, not sure, although I am keeping record of the tray numbers and starting dates. | |

The picture on the left is of hundreds of Holly Ferns in the tray, now somewhat later (about 6 months) and I should already have transplanted them. They could most probably have been larger by now, were they transplanted in a timely manner.
